Randall Yamaoka 山岡　ランドル 

I discovered my passion in International Education after graduating from high school. I attended the University of Hawaii Maui College where I studied Liberal Arts. I took Japanese courses that provided the opportunity to Skype with Japanese students from a partner college, Kure National College of Technology. With this experience and the zeal to explore my heritage, I decided to transfer to a larger university. At the University of Hawaii at Hilo, I studied abroad in two different countries. I studied at Kyoto Sangyo University in Kyoto, Japan for an academic year and a month in a half summer program at Seoul’s Women University in Seoul, South Korea. I graduated in May 2015 with my BA in Japanese Studies and Linguistics with subject certificates in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Educational Studies, and Global Engagement.
With the passion to strive for more international experiences, I participated in the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) program where I taught for 3 years in rural Hiroshima. I am a current MA Candidate in International Education Management specializing in Language Program Administration at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. My MA in International Education Management will be completed in May 2020.
